I use Joe's own editor (joe): http://joe-editor.sourceforge.net/ it has some nice features and the keyboard mappings are much nicer then VI :-) I’m not much of a fan of VI, it’s better then nothing, but there are better editors available.

Which I actually like quite a bit.
